Dee’s Air9 RDO

Posted on 12 July 2013 by Brendan

Dee’s new Air9 RDO (Race Day Only) is dressed to the nines and ready for the podium.

Long story short, Dee’s words: “This Bike rocks. Out Performs my S Works hands down.”

Dee runs Team Shoebacca and keeps things sunny in San Diego. His bike looks the part; Niner’s top end frame dressed in Shimano XTR bits with a frame-friendly Race Face crank and Niner RDO stem, bars, and seatpost.
“I totally recommend the RDO seat post and bars, they really work to smooth out the trail chatter.”

Notice the mismatched cable housing?
“If you were wondering the one red cable is sorta a superstitious trade mark. I always wear one red and one black sock. Same with gloves.”

Thank you Dee!

    Really, BETTER than Stumpjumper Carbon?

I would have to say yes. The geometry is all but identical and at 20.19 lbs I feel it\’s just as fast a climber. I have the Rock Shock World Cup on both bikes so the descents are graded the same and the Niner is much smoother. I only had the one bike for riding or racing, the S Works. It is a 2010 and was growing tired. I spoke with Specialized and they explained that the 2014 was an even stiffer ride than mine. I have always liked Niner and when they built the Air 9 RDO I asked The Hub to order me one. The combination of Niner parts, XTR, and Race Face is awesome. I\’ve been on several.\”Real Deal\” rides the longest of which was 31 miles and the bike rode perfect.
    Lovin the Niner
